2012 begins with many ominous warnings that the austerity agenda will continue to expand and attack working people worldwide. Italians and Greeks are hiding their money, over fears of economic collapse. In Ireland, economists say the austerity agenda has no end in sight. Everywhere, we see the gap between rich and everyone else expanding.

I encourage you to share Capitalism Is The Crisis with your friends and families. We have to fight the austerity agenda. We have to replace capitalism.

I am very excited by the reception of the film, which to date has been viewed online well over 60,000 times (an audience perhaps of 120,000 to 300,000 people).

Recently, KPFA in Berkeley has offered the film as a gift to donors in its pledge drive. If you have the means, please support KPFAand independent media.

In solidarity,
Michael

The end of the film advocates: "Organize. Occupy. Resist. Build Alternatives."

The film was made before the Occupy Wall Street protests, but certainly speaks to that tactic. I would encourage people interested in OWS to have a look at the film, if they haven't already. It could be a useful way of getting people to participate in Occupy protests.

If you can, please donate to Occupy Wall Street. They appear to be the most organized and dedicated of the Occupy protests, although, of course, time will tell. I think it is essential that OWS succeed, but also that people don't abandon other forms of resistance while waiting for OWS to succeed.

Capitalism Is The Crisis has now been downloaded well over 25,000 times, which means an estimated audience of from 50,000 to 250,000. Thank you all for your support! Please contact me at truscello [at] gmail.com if you need assistance with a public screening.

In solidarity,
Michael

KPFK in Los Angeles is offering a copy of Capitalism Is The Crisis to donors in its latest fundraising drive. This is a tremendous honor. Please consider a donation to KPFK, to support the essential work of independent progressive media.

As if the honor of having CITC selected by KPFK were not enough, you can also get a copy of the film with the incredible documentary, Inside Job, in what KPFK is calling the"Anti-Capitalist 2-DVD pack". This would be a fantastic double feature in any community. Maybe stop Inside Job in its final 5 minutes, when Matt Damon talks about reforming capitalism, and start CITC with its revolutionary message.  ;-)

I may have more news of another radio station promotion, this time from the east coast, in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

I must extend my thanks to the Marxist Literary Group Institute for Culture, for providing a forum to screen a rough edit of the film on June 22. Thanks to those who attended the screening and provided excellent suggestions. I have incorporated your ideas to the best of my ability.
